Our Vision

The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart have dared to dream and imagine spiritual formation that listens closely to and is responsive to the heartbeat of our world, our Church, indeed the heartbeat of God. 

The vision of The Catholic Leadership Foundation, and particularly the Into the Deep initiative, is inspired by Luke 5: 1-11. It is a vision of Catholic leaders who:

• trust in God's providence, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.

• listen to and who are responsive to the Word of God, the teachings of the Church and the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

• cultivate humility, recognising that all we have is a gift from God.

• are willing to "cast their nets" in new ways, embracing innovation and creativity in leadership.

• recognise their role as "fishers” of men and women" called to share the Good News and invite others into a relationship with Christ.

The Foundation seeks to provide formation for a new generation of Catholic leaders to embrace Jesus’ call to become instruments of God's grace, lead their communities with wisdom, compassion, and a deep commitment to service.  Lay Catholics can hear Jesus calling, “Cast your nets into the deep water, take action, strenuously work together, despite the uncertainty.”. 

This vision is inspired by the need for a new evangelisation, to re-propose the Gospel to a world that has become increasingly secularised and indifferent to faith.
